About
I was born in Los Angeles, California and have lived here all of my life. As a native to this urban land, I have learned how to navigate its unique challenges and to celebrate its wonderful beauty. I took the photo at the top of the page in Kenneth Hahn Park. It is a park surrounded by neighborhoods that have struggled and neighborhoods that have not. It is a wonderful example of the beauty that can be found in the city if you look for it. As a new mom, I am learning the city all over again. I see it now, through different eyes and I look forward to exploring its great potential as a playground, learning space, and spiritual space for my boys.
My gravatar is cropped from a photograph taken by my son in the doctor’s office. We’ve reduced screen time, but playing with my phone is a great way to spend the time while mom finishes a conversation with the pediatrician.

2012 Mazda5 “Speedpacking” Youtube video for blog posting
Hello,
I’m Amanda Aguirre, I work with Rebel Industries as a social community manager for Mazda. We recently unveiled the 2012 Mazda5 at the LA Auto Show. I’d like to share a video of the live Speedpacking event that accompanied the reveal. We’d love it if you could post this to your blog or site, but if it’s not something that will work for you we’d also like feedback on what type of content (or what changes to the video) would be more useful.
2012 MAZDA5 – Live Press Reveal at LA Auto Show:
Here’s an official write-up about the video from Mazda:
“For the new 2012 Mazda5 press reveal at the LA Auto show, we produced a live event as unexpected as the car itself. The Mazda5 offers much more than just being a great family hauler. To demonstrate its multiple personalities, we packed a rock band’s equipment, a load of home improvement supplies, a camping trip’s worth of gear, plus four adults into the Mazda5, as fast as humanly possible. We call it Speedpacking.”
Thanks!

Hi Amanda,
I watched the video and I think your work is great. I actually ended up with a Mazda CX-9 instead of the Mazda 5. The speedpacking idea is a great one for people who are looking for space . . . if you’re looking to appeal to moms, I think you should work on something that demonstrates both space and safety. So, it can be packed with quite a bit of stuff but also as a way to stop all of that stuff from projecting forward in the event of an accident. You might even show how it can be packed with two car-seats in the second row. My CX9 has a storage compartment under the floor of the rear storage space, does the Mazda 5 have the same? If so, you might want to make sure people see it. Finally, I know you want to appeal to all kinds of people, but if moms are your target audience, it might be worthwhile to demonstrate how to pack all the kid stuff into the car. When my husband and I were shopping for our new vehicle, we put both of the car seats in and the double stroller. We also made sure we could comfortably adjust the front seats so that adults could sit in the front with car seats in the rear. You might be surprised to find out how many SUVs can’t have an adult male in the passenger seat when there is a rear facing carseat in the second row. All the best to you as you work on marketing the Mazda 5. I am really enjoying my CX9.
